What We Do
“We Are Limitless” is an organization dedicated to moving orphans into boarding schools, finding and funding suitable homes, and offering unique opportunities to help bring joy and hope to in-need children.
Since 2018 our primary focus has been on supporting girls and young women in their quest for education.
Wage Increase
If a girl attends an additional year of primary school,
she’ll see her wages increase up to 20%... An additional year of secondary school, her wages could increase by 25%.
Health
When girls are educated, they are less likely to contract HIV, more likely to delay childbearing and vaccinate their children,
“Silver Bullet”
Carla Koppell of USAID, called female education a “silver bullet” for empowerment and progress.
Child Mortality
Children of educated mothers are twice as likely to survive past the age of five.
Most orphans in Rwanda are either a byproduct of genocide, have lost their families to HIV, or have been found abandoned by families unable to support them. Often, infants are found left in jungles or ditches to survive the elements or hopefully be found by an orphanage. “We Are Limitless” is working to raise funds and empower like-minded individuals to help better the lives of youth that deserve so much more than they have.
Currently, WAL has 46 students at the primary, secondary, and college level (with Audrey in graduate school at William Penn University and Schadrack in his freshman year at St Edward’s University in the U.S.).
When a child is brought in to the WAL family they are given school tuition, housing, food, clothing, school supplies, medical insurance, birthday and Christmas gifts, and just about every other conceivable need that might be necessary to assure their success and happiness. We identify each child’s specific needs and place them in a school situation that offers them the greatest chance to succeed. If a child is better served at a school different than the one he is attending we will move them. If a child needs more individualized attention, we will provide a tutor. This is where WAL proves to be more like a family and less like a non-profit that is merely providing education for a child.
