Rwanda Visit June 2019

Got a chance to visit with some of our students while simultaneously checking in on a new for-profit venture founder, Matthew Leutwyler has in Kigali – A restaurant called Lavana. While is financed by private equity it also has a connection to WAL as a place that offers job opportunities to our graduates and a meeting place for everyone to gather for the holidays. All of our students are allowed to eat for free and access the wifi and other facilities as needed. Additionally, profits from sales of local artisan items (baskets, carvings, gift cards) is being donated to WAL.
