2023 NATIONAL EXAMS
Well, THE SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS AGAIN next week in Rwanda.
This is our 11th Year. CRAZY to think we are still going… I have said it before, the challenges of financing this operation are mostly overwhelming but when you see the ROI it definitely keeps us motivated.
NOW FOR AN UPDATE:
Some of our students had to take their RWANDA NATIONAL EXAMS to move to the next grade and what do you know… We have another STAR STUDENT on our hands. WInny, 13, was not living up to her potential a year ago when Angel (WAL’s Rwandan Director) challenged her to focus harder on her studies. UMMMMM… I guess you could say, “Challenge accepted and answered!”… Winny just scored 100 PERCENT on her National Exams, allowing her to be placed in one of the top schools in the country for Senior 1. Winny has come to love the Sciences and hopes to one day become a airplane pilot.
Other students scoring high marks on the Exam include Queen, 15, and her brother Arthur, 16, who are both moving on to schools specializing in Mathematics/Economics and Computer Science respectively. And Mary, who will be studying literature.
Unfortunately, we have not ben able to do much in the way of fundraising this year as Anton and I have been consumed working on the feature film and docu-series about the women’s boxing team in Congo, so WAL took on a loan to continue paying for student fees and overhead… BUT WE WILL DO SOMETHING SOON so please be prepared to support these amazing students and tell everyone you know about them too :)
